When I bought my Tortoise switch machines I had thought I would simply per-solder the connections, but after installing two I knew there had to be an easier way. I found Accu-lites connecters through a search of the internet and found them at Traintek LLC and perchased a few. They certainly made the connections easy, and if for some reason you need to re-wire the switch it can be done easily.
These connectors make electrical hookups to a Tortoise switch machine quick & easy. No soldering required. The slip on connection to the Tortoise and screw connections for wiring are secure and reliable. The units are a bit pricey, so I demoted the rating by 1 Star.
Great product. Tight and firm fit on Tortoise contacts. I have no problem with soldering but prefer not to do it upside down under layout. This product makes it easy to hook up and/or change wiring for switch machines.
Two of the parts had poor soldering that created electrical contact between adjoining pins. It is difficult to make a secure connection of the small wires the model railroaders use to the terminal blocke.
I have used the Tortconn 2 connector which is a little cheaper but this one is well worth the extra cost. It fits on the switch machine perfect with no slop. You can connect and disconnect the wires without having to solder, A lot easier to change things around when you need to.
These give you the ability to change things around with you Totroise Switch machine with out damaging the switch machine plus they make installation much easier.
The SNAPS wiring connector makes wiring your Tortoise switch machines a breeze. No soldering, just screw in the wires and slide on the connector.
